God Remains on the Line with Quebec

Discover more about the encouraging work of our partner in Quebec and how they are using the Hope Line to connect with callers and support them in their faith journey.

Our partner in Quebec, Aujourd’hui l’Espoir, continues to connect with callers on the Hope Line. The volunteer receptionists listen to callers’ stories, answer their questions, and provide them with resources that build their understanding of God and enrich their faith. But most importantly, through the Hope Line, we connect callers to local churches who follow up with them and support them in their journey of faith. 
 
Recently, Hope Line coordinator Annabelle noticed a few patterns in the responses of callers who have offered encouraging commentary after tuning into La Parole Vivante:  
 
1) They are touched by how the hosts are so authentically convinced of the truths they speak in their messages. 
 
2) They enjoy hearing about the Bible.  
 
3) They appreciate the dynamic nature of the program’s discussions. 
 
4) Non-Christians really like the show.  

As you read further, you’ll notice God equips us all with unique experiences and lessons that serve a purpose to expand his kingdom!  
 
One caller specifically shared, “Watching your program La Parole Vivante with Simon every Saturday allowed me to repent, to be converted, to become a child of God the Father and a brother of Jesus Christ. I can never thank you enough for opening my eyes, nourishing my soul – for allowing me to grow in my spirituality and in my faith – to live my second birth and have eternal life.” 
 
Annabelle has been following up with another caller who has a thirst for spirituality since her husband died. “She is clearly on a spiritual quest,” Annabelle noted. “I explained to her what Jesus did for her at the cross with the book Acquitted. I don't know if she really understood the full meaning of the acquittal of the sinner, but she was happy that I offered her the New Testament. She said to me, ‘With this, I will be able to follow along when there are biblical references that are shown in La Parole Vivante.’” 
 
The team at La Parole Vivante works hard to deliver the good news of the gospel through television in an engaging and strategic way. Their confidence in how they deliver the gospel helps dispel hesitancy that many Quebecois experience regarding Christianity. This leaves listeners curious to keep learning and growing in faith and compels them to share the good news of Christ with friends and family! 
 
One of La Parole Vivante’s hosts recently shared an encouraging testimony: “After our recordings, I decided to visit an 84-year-old aunt. My family has been Christian for about 40 years, yet my extended family never wanted to hear about the gospel or talk about it. My aunt told me that my cousin had seen me on TV, and they started watching the shows. My aunt even told me it was good! These kinds of stories happened in my mom's family AND in my dad's family. In short, we never got to share the gospel all these years, but now they are listening to it, thanks to La Parole Vivante!” 
 
We praise God for giving the AE team the energy, strength and guidance to respond to, follow up with and impact the lives of those who call the Hope Line and watch La Parole Vivante programming. Many Quebecois are hesitant to go to church but through the ministry of AE, we are seeing an increase in curiosity and growth in faith. We hope you are encouraged by how God demonstrates his goodness through these stories!
