TWR Africa’s station in Eswatini – known as ‘the pulpit of Africa’ – broadcasts to East and Southern Africa using high-power AM and shortwave radio, reaching millions in over 30 languages.

TWR Africa’s influence is felt far beyond the Eswatini station, with a growing number of listeners across the continent. One of the key programs, Thru the Bible, has gained a significant following, particularly in Nigeria. The program, broadcast in the Igbo language, airs daily at 5:10 a.m. on medium-wave and FM stations, with many listeners making it a part of their daily routine.

In November 2024, TWR Eswatini celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking half a century of sharing the message of hope to millions across the continent. TWR Canada Interim President Steve Shantz attended, and the celebration featured music, prayer, speeches, and a festive meal. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, the entire transmitter site was given a professional paint makeover just in time for this special occasion!

The ministry is supported by five missionary homes, a cottage, and an office located in a compound about a half-hour drive from the transmitter site. Due to the common occurrence of crimes like break-ins, robberies, and hijackings in the area, the safety of staff and families is a top priority. While homes are typically surrounded by walls and fences, there have been multiple incidents over the years that have threatened the safety of the staff, including missionary children.

To address these concerns, TWR Africa has installed a six-foot block wall with electric fencing along parts of the property. Recent support from our generous donors allowed the completion of the wall, including sections near the main gate and office. This addition provides enhanced security and privacy, particularly for the houses along the road, effectively preventing unwanted access and making a significant contribution to the safety of staff and their families.

Missionary Greg Clarke shared, “It really helped us to showcase the ministry here during the celebration and it will help to protect our transmitter hall for many years. And the wall provides excellent security and keeps the residents feeling safe.”

Your prayers and support have expanded the reach of the ministry and will protect missionary families overseeing the work in Eswatini for years to come. Thank you for your continued support!
