Access to Faith for French Speakers

Access to Faith for French Speakers
Did you know that Africa has the largest population of French speakers, with 120 million people across 29 countries that speak the language alongside their indigenous languages?
With French Language Day on March 20, this week we are reflecting on what it means to provide access to faith through media to French speakers.
Did you know that Africa has the largest population of French speakers, with 120 million people across 29 countries that speak the language alongside their indigenous languages?
TWR Canada is passionate about bringing faith and discipleship resources to these French-speaking regions through media, and we are grateful for your shared vision and support that makes it possible.
In West Africa, Discipleship Essentials, a 137-module curriculum, airs daily in French on local FM stations in Côte d'Ivoire and across medium-wave in Benin, guiding listeners into becoming believers and devoted followers of Jesus. One listener from Côte d'Ivoire shared, "I have always dreamed of discipleship but did not know how to go about it. I am delighted to listen to Dr. David and McDonald. Their relationship inspires and invites me into an intimacy with the Lord and compels me to read the Bible. I am encouraged in my Bible reading routine."
In Quebec, our partner Aujour'hui l'espoir uses radio, web and TV to share the Christian message . One listener shared how she was drawn closer to God through online resources, describing her journey from curiosity to deepening faith, sparked by videos from La Parole Vivante:
“For some time, I'd had this call to draw closer to God, but I had no idea where to start or how to go about it. I wanted to go to church, so I researched the churches in my area. I was drawn to an evangelical Baptist church and went to a celebration. Having had a Catholic upbringing, I researched what an evangelical church was and how it differed from a Catholic church. That's how I came across the La Parole Vivante website and listened to videos on this subject. Enjoying how Simon and his guests talked, I started listening to multiple videos. It's doing me a world of good and I'm continuing my learning in the footsteps of Jesus.”
We thank God for your partnership that enables the production and distribution of Christ-centred teaching to the French-speaking world. Your generosity ensures they can find and follow Jesus in a language they understand.
Join us in prayer:
· Pray for the continued spread of the gospel in the French language.
· Pray for the moratorium on new radio outlets to be lifted so 5 new stations can be established across Quebec.
