The Mission, Part 2
The Mission, Part 2
“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11)
A day is coming when all the world will recognize that Jesus Christ is Lord. Every knee will bow before him and every tongue in every language will confess that he is God.
And yet, a day of judgment is also coming and on that day some will rejoice with the knowledge of who Jesus is while others will acknowledge the truth with fear and trembling knowing that they recognized his lordship too late.
As Christians, we know that this day is coming. We know that God will judge justly. We know that it is through Christ alone that we are saved. So, we should long to see others know and believe this as well before it is too late. It is a good thing that God judges rightly, and we can rejoice in that, but we should also long to see the world come to a saving knowledge of Christ.
Let us pray, long for and work towards the day when we hear the sound of praise coming from the voices of people from every people and nation and tribe and tongue.
