The Mission, Part 1
The Mission, Part 1
“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’” (Revelation 7:9-10)
This is the mission of the Church. It is the mission that we have been called to and the mission that God will accomplish. The body of Christ has a beautiful purpose: the glorification of God.
God has created us to bring glory to his name and this is a purpose that reaches across the entire world, for people of every nation, language, and race. A day is coming when believers from every corner of the world will be united, clothed in robes washed white in the blood and righteousness of our Saviour, crying out that salvation belongs to our God and to the Lamb.
Before this day comes, God intends to use his people for the furthering of his Word. We who have received this hope are called to go to those who have not heard.
While we wait for the day when we shall speak of the salvation of God in his throne room, let us speak of the salvation of God to all the ends of the earth.
