The Message, Part 2

“And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.” (Joel 2:32a)

The message that we have to share with the world is one of great hope. It isn’t a command to work harder or to amass greater wealth. It isn’t limited to one country or language. It cannot be taken away once it has been embraced.

The message is simple: call upon the name of the Lord in faith and be saved.

The good news we have for the world is that Jesus Christ died in our place for our sins and rose again to save all who trust in him. This is not something that can be earned but is freely given as a gracious gift from God and is received through faith in Jesus.

This is the message that we need and have received, and it is the message that all the world so desperately needs. “Come! Believe! Look to Jesus! Call upon his name and be saved!”

This message of great hope goes contrary to what so many other messages call for. This message does not require great strength, wealth, or status, but simple faith.

Let us be the heralds of this hopeful and beautiful message telling the world to call upon the LORD, trusting in his power to save.
