The Means, Part 1

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!’” (Romans 10:14-15)

God has a mission and a message with which to accomplish that mission. People from all over the earth will hear of the grace and salvation of God and will believe in and praise God before his throne.

But how does God intend to carry out this mission?

God uses his people to accomplish his mission. For some of us, this is a great encouragement that fills us with a sense of excitement and purpose, but for others, this is incredibly daunting. In the grand scheme of things, we are so small and our impact is so little. How could we possibly contribute to this mission?

The good news is, God doesn’t need us. Instead, he chooses to use us for his glory. God has called us to send and to go and promises to go with us and to enable us to do the work he has called us to (Matt. 28:19-20).

Let us be senders and goers who desire to see God’s kingdom come and his will be done.
