O Come All You Unfaithful
O Come All You Unfaithful
“And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:11)
“O Come All You Unfaithful” by Sovereign Grace Music plays on the classic Christmas carol “O Come All Ye Faithful” and presents a beautiful message of hope for those who fear that they might not be counted among God’s faithful ones.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 makes it clear that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God and then proceeds to list off several disqualifying sins that may leave us in despair. It is easy to look at that list and many other verses in God’s Word and come to realize that we are guilty. In so many ways, each one of us has been unfaithful. And yet 1 Corinthians 6 goes on to tell us of the beautiful hope we have in the newborn Saviour. Through him, we are washed, sanctified, and justified before God.
“So come, though you have nothing/Come, he is the offering/Come, see what your God has done/Christ is born for you.”
When we recognize our own unfaithfulness, may we also recognize that Christ was born for us and that through him we are counted as faithful.
