Living Hope

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” (1 Peter 1:3-5)

Whether you came to know Christ as a child, a young adult, in your middle age, or as a senior citizen, you are a new creation, born again to a living hope! This is an imperishable, undefiled, unfading hope, restoration and renewal!

If you received this mercy at a young age, you might still have a long life ahead of you to live this resurrected life and share with others the hope that is within you! If, on the other hand, you didn’t get to know Jesus until later in life, you may worry that your time on earth is running short to share your new-found hope, but as long as we are breathing, God isn’t finished with us!

The work that Christ has done in your life is a miracle no matter how “interesting” or “boring” your testimony may be. We are all called to live this new life with living hope for the glory of God as we look ahead to the fullness of this hope which is kept in heaven for us. If you believe in who Jesus is and what he has done, then you are raised to new life with a living hope! Whether you have a lot of time left on earth or very little, you are a new creation. You have been renewed and restored! What is the living God calling you to do with this living hope?
