Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
"'Hark! The herald angels sing/'Glory to the newborn King!'"
These words penned by Charles Wesley speak of the angels' declaration of the birth of the King who had come to save the lost. The angels had good news that was worthy of proclaiming, and they declared it to onlooking shepherds. The shepherds watching over their sheep were the first to hear this good news of great joy, but that good news continues to be good for all who hear and believe.
When the shepherds heard this good news, they then declared it to others. Now we have heard this good news and it is still worth proclaiming! The news of Jesus' coming is good news that ought to be proclaimed to all who will listen!
As Christmas approaches, may we be filled with love for our newborn King, and may we delight in him and declare the good news of who he is and what he has done!
