The seeds of missionary service were planted early in Sereth Macwan's life. Born in India to parents who served faithfully with TWR’s partner in India, Sereth grew up witnessing firsthand how technology and faith could work hand in hand to transform lives. The impact of TWR's mission work wasn't just something he observed—it was woven into the fabric of his daily life, shaping his future aspirations.
Growing up in this environment of service, Sereth developed twin passions: a deep commitment to Christian ministry and a fascination with technology. He pursued his technical calling at ITM Vocational University in Vadodara, India, earning his bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering. Sereth is fluent in English, Gujarati, and Hindi.
In 2018, Sereth took a leap of faith and moved to North America, where he continued to develop his expertise. He earned his Master of Science in Computer Science from California State University, San Marcos, and later enhanced his knowledge with post-graduate studies in Cloud Computing Technologies at Sereth Brown College in Toronto. Along the way, he collected an impressive array of technical certifications, including Microsoft Azure Fundamentals and specialized training in Android development, web development, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.
Throughout his career in IT support, consulting, and systems implementation, Sereth never lost sight of his missionary heritage. He continued to seek ways to merge his technical expertise with his calling to serve. That vision is now taking shape: in October 2024, Sereth was appointed as a TWR Canada missionary appointee. As he works to build his financial support team, he looks forward to serving with TWR’s international global IT support group.
Based in Scarborough, Ontario, Sereth is preparing for a unique role that will bridge the digital and spiritual realms. Once fully supported, he will work remotely in a full-time capacity, ensuring that TWR's technological infrastructure remains robust, stable, and current. His work, though behind the scenes, will be vital to TWR's mission of reaching the world for Christ—he will plan and maintain the very systems that enable the organization's global outreach efforts.
Sereth's story is a testament to how God can use our professional skills for His purpose. His journey from a missionary kid in India to an IT missionary appointee in Canada showcases how modern ministry can take many forms, all working together to spread the Gospel in our increasingly connected world. He is currently building his ministry partnership team and looking forward to beginning his service with TWR as soon as his support is raised.
